To Sua Ocean Trench & Piula Cave Pool*

A special trip to the iconic To Sua Ocean Trench departing from any hotel destination within the city boundary of Apia can be arranged through our tour guides. A coastal drive through our main east coast will enable us to catch some glimpse of the modern and old village structures through modern and traditional villages along the way. On this route we can make a first stop at the fresh water Piula Cave Pool or be our last stop after having a swim at the To Sua Ocean Trench which is approximately 40 minute drive to the other side of the Island.

Most guests prefer To Sua as the first stop and Piula as the last for a fresh water swim after having a dip at the Ocean Trench. Along the way we will drive inland through Le Mafa Pass at 1,7000 ft above sea level with a beautiful tropical green scenery before we descend to Lotofaga and straight to the Trench. On the return trip we will drive through Lalomanu Beach and return through Le Mafa Pass back to Apia.

Samoa Cultural Village, Cathedral & Piula Cave Pool

This will be a full day tour where we will pick you up from your hotel destination within Apia City boundary at 9.30 am and we will head to the Cultural village.
Be welcomed, the traditional Samoan way through an ava ceremony often reserved for visiting royalty and dignitaries. The tour starts at 10.30am and runs for approximately 2 hours and commences with the preparation of the Umu. A guided walk around the Cultural village explains the demonstrations that are taking place, then once the Umu is ready, guests can sample fresh traditional Samoan cuisine of fish, taro and palusami served on a woven plate while watching a performance of traditional Samoan dance.
The Samoan siva is a graceful dance performed by the women where the dancer tells a story with her hands and fast actions of the faátaupati or slap dance which is performed by the men.
Upon completion of the above we will go to the Catholic Cathedral before taking a scenic drive through the eastern coastline road to Piula Cave Pool for a fresh water swim for an hour.
Drop off to your hotel destination at 4.00pm.

* Packed Lunch will consist of a Light Refreshment Type Snack (eg: Sandwich) (Dietary Requirements to be communicated during booking)
* Each Tour will be up to 7 hours or slightly more time which consists of transit hours and visits to each site. Swimming gear and proper foot wear for walking required at some Sites will be advisable.
* Some of the Tour Sites may have steep stairs and or unlevelled dirt track walkway that require proper walking shoes.
* Guest will need to bring change of clothes and towels for Tours.
* Any Photos taken at the Tour Sites are to be consulted with Driver/Tour assistant to see whether possible to be taken as some destinations prohibit or limit images to be taken
* All tours require a minimum of 2 passengers to operate
