Upolu

Upolu is Samoa’s 2nd largest but most populated island, home to the international airport at Faleolo and the capital city Apia.

If you’re looking to explore some of Samoa’s beaches, you are spoilt for choice. A great place to start is in the north-western corner of Upolu, right near the international airport where the sandy beaches are pristine and the ocean is calm and clear, perfect for swimming and water sports.  The Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort is a beautiful oceanfront resort and is just a short drive from the international airport, offering guests a memorable beachside experience in modern comfort.

Along the southern coast you’ll find lovely sandy beaches dotted everywhere, but one of the very best spots is at the Coconuts Beach Club Resort & Spa which has some unique Samoan-style accommodation to choose from.  From traditional beach fales to magnificent overwater villas, this resort must be seen to be believed.

Before you leave Upolu, you need to take the time to check out some of the picturesque swimming holes and waterfalls scattered throughout the island.  They can be some of the most beautiful and romantic places to spend time during your trip.  Just like the rest of Samoa, Upolu has some amazing natural scenery to visit and everywhere you go you’ll find the Samoan people friendly and welcoming!
